Being Local in Detroit

These are my Detroit trip souvenir. The City Bird has collection of Detroit local artist. I can tell how much they love Detroit. That is nice.

These are from the motor mechanic. I love the way they are. The well used tools becomes easier to use with, and looks more beautiful. We can see the history how they were uesd by the owner. Just like JEANS.

Meet the people- Rin Tanaka 2

with Rin-san (He is sooo nice and friendly.)

Rin Tanaka is whom I really wanted to meet. He is a Japanese journalist and photographer.

Spending his college days in the Mississippi Delta with old Blues musicians, he became "the youngest blues write in the world" at 20 years old. In 1994 he started researching the history of motorcycle jackets and accessories. Now he has a studio in San Clemente working on his self-published business, "My Freedamn!"

His passion and action seeking something he loves, always inspire me. I can tell how he enjoy his life by rearing his book. 

To be in US, most of the time it still hard for me, but I want to enjoy my life just like he does.

Thank you Rin-san! It was so precious to meet you!!

Meet the people- Rin Tanaka

These pictures are from my favorite book, My Freedamn! When I need some inspiration for our design, I always browse this book, and clean my head. There are vol 1-8, then always talking about vintage clothing. (Mine is about Vintage Hippie clothing feauturing The Grateful Dead Tee.)
Since I found this book, I always eager to meet the guy who published this book. His name is Rin Tanaka...

This magazine is focusing on the target who are middle age guys, not married. They must be rich (I know, this is the prejudice.), so there are so many luxurios items on the pages!! KUNNA is one of them.

New Hair Style. 1

It is five minutes away from our office in Lomita, (How convinient!!) there is my favorite hair salon named K's Galaxy. That place is always crowded, especially my stylist Kaz who owns the salon is always busy, and hard to get the appointment. However, I could have an appointment and hair cut.

First of all, I have to get a hair shampoo. (That's one of my favorite part.)Kaz's assistant does it, and his shampoo tecnique is the best. It makes me sleepy...

Oh, time to go to work!

Dancing Bear Tee with KUNNA MJ510-55

Somebody asked me yesterday, "Who is the funky laughing bear??"

Somebody knows, somebody doesn't. Somebody calls them  "Dead Bear", somebody does "Jerry Garcia Bear". Yes, this jorker bear is the one of the mascot of The Grateful Dead.

Now I remember, this tee is my first Dead item which I bought 15 years ago in Japan. Since then, my bear collection is getting bigger, bigger and bigger. Because, these guys drive me crazy. They are incredinbly weird, but pretty.

They all have their name and birthday on their tag.

I knew Jerry Garcia before I met them, because I was raised by the Blue Grass music. His sound and face were very familiar to me, but I'd never know he created these characters.

They always give me their happy weird smile. I love it.

This is the combination of KUNNA WJ170-85 c/#25 (Gray Hyper) and fLuxus black vest.

I just bought the vest yesterday. The length comes to the hip line and this is the perfect mutch with our Hyper Skinny series. Yes!! I should get some ties and shoes for this coordination.

T-REX!!

I enjoyed the event "Twentieth Century Boy" last night in Hollywood. It was the celebration of legendary glam rock star, T-REX, through the art works by Japanese painter, Masakatsu Sashie. We had a special gig by Rolan Bolan. (Marc Bolan's son) That's why I love to be in LA!!
